I’ve always appreciated the way you show the versatility of great pieces! You did a post like this for vacation (I’ve been a fan for a long time 😉) and it’s always stuck with me!!
Thank you Kelly! And yes that vacation newsletter was what inspired this version! I think my purse arrived back at the house so I’ll share in the chat!
I literally LMAO at the plaid pajamas comment -- yup that was me last year and still haven't pulled them out yet! 😂🥴 As ever, loved your advice on alternatives that make more sense for living
So funny as, for the first time ever, I just thought today, maybe I should get red plaid pjs for my daughter and I, as it’s just us two this Xmas 😳 Never before in my life! Thank you for rescuing me from an unnecessary purchase. I like the idea of red socks and a scarf instead 👌
Haha I bought the plaid pjs last year for the same reason and neither of us have worn them gain. Wish I'd just gotten red socks and a scarf as well! Definitely plan to this year
Yes! I feel like all the beautifully edited Instagram photos and marketing make us think we need to be very literal but there’s so many ways to express a festive mood
I'm out here reading, don't worry. And you know me - lots of the one off type of pieces you recommend against are my basics although def not plaid pajamas!), but you still make me think about different ways to put things together ;-))) Hope all is well for you too!
My client has a set in flannel and loves it! She mainly wears as a WFH or weekend lounge option but said she loves traveling with it bc it doesn’t wrinkle as much and can double as pajamas. I can’t speak to the coziness of it but it’s brushed cotton so it will have a soft hand feel. I own cotton flannel pants from Donni that’s similar and they are great
I have given this book and a few other books of poetry as gifts recently and they’ve been so wonderfully received. The girls trip poem is one of my faves!
Angie, I absolutely loved this! A truly thoughtful way to approach holiday dressing with pieces that are versatile enough to wear year-round and the next holiday season.
Hi Angie- I always look forward to your Sunday evening post (or whatever day you wish it to be in the future). I’ve had the Nili Lotan Dianne Blazer on my radar for ages now, but wondering if it might run too oversized for me (5’2”, short torso)? Any thoughts ?
Hi Kristin! I’m 5’1”, short torso, and struggle with blazers! I haven’t tried the Dianne, but the cut looks similar to the TWP boyfriend, which works for me. Maybe an option if the Dianne doesn’t work out. Happy holidays!
I have a feeling it will be too long and would need an alteration. I just tried on some TWP blazers and they fit beautifully and don’t feel as elongated. Also, a great brand I’ve tried for blazers is Another Tomorrow that has a similar feel
Great ideas! I love that you have such a wise approach to dressing up and helping us use what we already have.
Thank you Beth ❤️I’ve also purchased too many one-off impractical pieces in my 20s so I’ve had my own experiences to learn from!
Always! So good.

PS- now I want that Zara purse!

Haha yes it’s so tempting!! I like the idea of a fun and cheerful scarf bc you can still rewear through the winter ❤️
I love this, Angie. You can dress for the occasion without it feeling too on-the-nose (and practically unwearable for the rest of the year!)

Love this kind of content!
The one you wrote about fantasy shopping for vacation was the way I found you and started reading substack articles in general.
Oh amazing!! That’s still one of my favorite newsletters bc it’s such a common trap for all of us ❤️
Angie your newsletters are always great but this one really struck a chord with me!
Aww Jacqueline! I miss seeing your name pop up. I hope all is well and thank you! 🫶

Has anyone actually tried the Comme Si Flannel? Is it actually cozy bc it looks very starched in the pics which I’m guessing is for styling purposes…

Thanks for the info! Merry Christmas to me.
Love the quote!
Me too! She’s one of my favorites ❤️ her new book is all about women as a collective :)

Thanks so much Tina! I’m all about styling the pieces that don’t feel as one-off in our wardrobes :)
Really into this mindset! I think that's what I struggle with the most for holiday dressing.

Thanks Angie- I had a feeling about the Diane Blazer being too long. I will look into the TWP blazers and Another Tomorrow!
I love love how you give us several outfit variations!! Incredible as always
Your lookbook offer is such a good idea. Most of us already have the clothes… we just lack the vision.
