Angie, this is an incredible wealth of knowledge you just shared with us! Thank you for this thoughtful post--I'm earmarking it for future reference. I find the whole production process fascinating, too! And it's so true, when we learn how much love goes into the making of a piece, it reminds us to care for it with love too.
I’m so glad to hear it’s helpful Mimi! And yes, I wish more brands were transparent about the production process. It’s not the most glamorous but it really shows the level of detail and care that goes into the making of our clothes ❤️
I love this post so much! Thank you Angie!! I love my chunky wool Babaa sweaters the most in deep Winter but they pill like crazy so I’m ordering your depiller reco right away. Also I never made knitwear when I had my clothing line but seeing your BTS kind of gives me the itch to get back into production (kind of, ha). Thank you for such a thoughtful and detailed post!
Thanks so much Rachael! I don’t own any Babaa but that’s good to know, and not surprising as it’s such a thick coarser wool but the depiller will be your best friend in the winter! And yes, the love/hate of production 😂🫶
This was incredible and I can't say it was what I thought my Monday morning needed, but here we are! I'd love a quick video on how to fold sweaters, and how you pack / care for them for travel!
Loved this deep dive!!! Thoughts on knitwear from Khaite? I was disappointed when The Row Ophelia sweater pilled within hours of wear so curious if Khaite’s quality is similar.
Eeek, to be honest, I have never been super impressed with The Row sweater qualities especially in their basic 7 and 12 gauge but I can understand the price in something like the Ophelia, which are really thick heavy long sweaters. That’s such a bummer it pilled within hours! My COS sweater that’s a similar weight and stitch hasn’t pilled even after wearing 2-3x over multiple weeks. I wonder if it might have to do with Ophelias looser tension?
I haven’t actually looked at Khaite sweaters before (I always check out their gorgeous outerwear!) but maybe some others have reviews they can share here? If I pop in the store , I’ll circle back to give you my thoughts!
Angie, this is such an incredible and thoughtfully created guide! I learned so much and really appreciated your videos on what to look for/how to care for your sweaters. Thank you for addressing my question on secondhand.
You are so welcome Tina! I left you a reply in the chat on a couple other points based on your question that I added into the post after I released it :)
I’m literally working on a knitwear post as we speak and this is giving me so much life and inspo!! Thank you for this incredible vault of knowledge and detail. As a self-proclaimed knitwear obsessive I so appreciate this.
I loved this article so much, Angie. I love all things cozy and sweaters are some of my favorite things to wear. Knowing how to choose and care for them well is a top priority and you’ve given me such great information! Thank you 🩷
This was incredibly detailed and helpful. Thank you for doing this and sharing all of your knowledge with us!
You are so welcome! It was a labor of love so I appreciate the feedback ❤️

Haha yes quite an intensive read for a Monday!
I just fold or roll like I would my t-shirts - not too specific about it. I tend to fold my bulky sweaters and roll my lightweight ones.
I’ll share video of packing when I send my Australia packing newsletter in Jan!
