Angie Angie Angie, I don’t know how you do it, you broke down the components of The Row for me in a fresh way. I feel like I’m seeing the concepts (color, shape, etc) for the first time as, I admit, it’s hard for me to remove the label and its connotations from it.

I’m a massive Olsen fan but I’d have to rely on second hand purchasing to enjoy The Row. But, really, it’s their eye for styling that I love and you just made the piece fall into place.

Thanks so much Kelly!! I’m glad it was helpful and I think what the brand does so well is texture and shape + consistency in color palette + fresh accessories so it always feels new but super versatile and wearable!

Thanks so much Francine! I think this journal will always be a styling over shopping newsletter first! ❤️ I’d love to do more of these so I’ll keep an eye out on what else is inspiring me!

The Row is such a hot-ly covered topic on Substack it's been a while since I've read anything that's felt different - this was it! This needs more praise - it's not just The Row styling, it's YOUR styling! And it's great! xx

Oh thank you! They are Donni’s taffeta pant. They run slightly big so I sized down but they have an elastic waist. Only thing I wish was that they had pockets! https://go.shopmy.us/p-5013267

I’m going to The Row this week so thank you SO much for this because I need it. I’ve recently become a huge fan of them. They’re approach to style from how they used to dress which was much more out there to how they are now, which is so minamilist, is so interesting. Also, isn’t it interesting how it’s almost easy to spot their clothes despite them not putting outward labels on any of them?

But thank you for this because I definitely don’t want to look out of place going!

Such a fabulous examination - as someone who is notoriously lazy about shopping and experimenting with her own closet (it feels so easy to just buying something new or wear the same things over and over) I’m inspired to try this too 👏🏼 love The Row but shelling out $$$ for every high quality basic is simply unreasonable!

Thank you! And totally get it…I think it’s a bit like building a muscle and creating the space to explore new styling ideas with the pieces you own so that it just starts to become part of your routine! ❤️

Hi Angie. New subscriber here. I found you by searching Google for how to style your own clothes like those of design house of The Row. I am glad I did as you provided me with a great basis to follow in styling my own clothing. I'm a 6'4 male who is obsessed with The Row. I have tons of clothes to pull from and your advice has made this is so much fun! Thank you.

Really enjoyed this read and the provocative questions. It’s given me a lot to reflect on in terms of whether I just like something for what it is or if it’s for me.

I really enjoyed this - even though I’m not a Row disciple - but I had already screenshot the sweater/lace slip/jean look to recreate for fall and I really liked your take on it. It would be fun to see you do this with other designers.
