I love and the themes for the next few months! Really looking forward to diving deeper on intentional shopping and styling. Thank you again for hosting the challenge - looking forward to more of these. I’m so glad to have discovered your Substack - I always look forward to it!
Ok, I have that blazer with the big feather pin stuck in my head now! Fab! I love all these going out top suggestions and the ways you suggested to style. It’s a category I need to expand in my own wardrobe for sure (date night, who?).
LOVE the collage of all the January challenge ladies! It was such an amazing way to kickoff the year - I’m looking forward to the next one! Xo Emily
Not you solving two style conundrums for me in one newsletter! I had planned to do a “blazer as a shirt” look for my birthday dinner later this month but wasn’t sure what (if anything) to wear underneath. Thanks for the styling guidance there!!! Also I fear that Lisa Yang cashmere halter top has no choice but to come and live with me now. Do you have a favorite silk or drapey pant to pair with it?
Nice!! The halter is in your power Navy! There’s a few I like, it may come down to finding one that’s a good tonal match. Vince bias pant, Reformation, and Leset have nice ones. The J Crew Stratus pant is also great and has a bit of texture
I saw another version of this halter that wasn’t the brushed cashmere and was a little lower in price. It feels like the brushed element gives it a good texture and elevates it more than just the regular cashmere?
Hmm I’d have to see it but the brushed gives jt more interest vs a flat cashmere could look more like a basic turtleneck but I think if the shape is sharp enough it will be ok!
I ended up ordering the brushed in grey. I will report back on my thoughts and what I end up pairing it with! The grey was on sale and this may end up being a case of “just order the one you want the most” and I’ll end up with the black but it was almost $100 cheaper so I felt like it was a good first start!
What a fantastic newsletter! I LOVED seeing how you style an item for a range of situations and so appreciate your POV of classy, subtle femininity that feels cool, confident and modern.

Thanks so much for being a part of it Emily! The blazer reference is from Leandra Medine Cohen :)
